Arjuna (Terminalia Arjuna) is widely spread in Ayurvedic medicine. The bark has been used for centuries for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It has many other therapeutic benefits, including the treatment of asthma, hypertension, and kidney stones. Arjuna riverside deciduous tree is native to India and grows up to 27 meters.
The bark of the plant contains phenolic compounds, flavones, tannins, oligomeric proanthocyanidins and b-sitosterol. Alcoholic extracts present in Arjuna have properties that help heal wounds.
Extracts of Arjuna increases arterial flow and protects the myocardium. Arjuna also contains several substances that have very strong antioxidants. The plant has a mild diuretic property and decreases the levels of blood lipids that contribute to the management of hypertension.
Use: 1 to 2 tablets twice a day. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Food supplement should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
